The Marine is one of South Africa’s most spectacular seaside hotels. Located on Hermanus’ famous cliff path, overlooking the breathtaking Walker Bay, the hotel offers visitors the unique opportunity to experience the finest land-based whale watching in the world
from June to November each year. Guests are even able to view these majestic creatures from the comfort of their own sea view room. The Double Rooms at The Marine all offer our signature décor and uncompromising style.
Each of these comfortable guest rooms comes with an en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning, as well as a king size bed – which in some rooms can also be converted into a twin bed. In addition, several of the Double Rooms open out onto private balconies.

In season, Southern Right Charters departs daily from Hermanus, the Capital of the Whale Coast. Our permit entitles us to approach the whales to up to 50 metres, being curious creatures they usually come right unto the vessel. It is definitely ‘a magical experience to be treasured’.

OUR WHALE WATCHING CATAMARAN
Our purpose built catamaran ensures maximum passenger comfort and superior stability. The different viewing levels offer spectacular viewing opportunities, with the side and front deck giving that up close view of the whale and sun deck above giving you that panoramic view of the entire whale.
