Pattaya is a city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast known for its beaches. In the 1960s, this was predominantly, a quiet fishing village.  It’s now lined with resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping malls, cabaret bars, and 24-hour clubs.   Nearby, hillside Wat Phra Yai Temple features an 18m-tall golden Buddha.   The area also features several designer golf courses, some with views of Pattaya Bay.

There is a lot more to this 4 km crescent of coastline than just sand and sea.   Pattaya Beach Road, which is just a line of palm trees away from the shore, is the place to be. Exploration will lead you to the best attractions, the best shopping, the best eating as well as the best partying, in the main part of the sprawling conurbation now known as ‘Greater Pattaya’.  Between Pattaya North Road (Pattaya Nua) and Pattaya South Road (Pattaya Tai), a wealth of experiences ensures you will never be bored.
