My family and I stayed at Centara Grand Beach Resort in Karon in July 2016. It is a large complex of 5 star accommodation surrounding a huge web of pools and slides set right on the beach.

 
You have the best of both beach and water-park all in one area – a heaven for families with kids.
 
My sons spent hours sliding down the slides and jumping into the rock pools while my husband and I relaxed in the sun.  There are loungers and umbrellas are set up on little sandy islands in between the pools, some even in the water.

The hotel is on a stunning stretch of beach with a swimming area. The beach is only accessible from the one side of the resort, making it very private.

 
The rooms are very spacious and we had a huge walk in cupboard and a big bath and separate shower with our own little balcony and a sea view. There was also a fully stocked mini bar with snacks and drinks and coffee station.
 
Just a little walk along the beach and you will find local restaurants, shops and spas; and we enjoyed local curries and noodles at a different spot every night.
The breakfast was inclusive in our stay and we had delicious options to choose from; from hot breakfasts to croissants and pancakes, fruit and great coffee.
