Mother’s Day escapes: 20+ ideas she’ll love
Considering that you will already make your mum the best brunch in the world on Mothers’ Day, or at least take her out for breakfast… we’ve put together a list of most-loved Mother’s Day activities to show the number one woman in your life just how much you care.
Last year, Parent24 asked moms what they wanted most for Mother’s Day… and the results were a little worrying. Most mums begged for a day off. Away from the nagging, working, cooking, cleaning and picking up after everyone else except themselves.
Reader Bronwen wrote her perfect day would be “To be booked into a hotel after a day of pampering… ALONE. No eating by myself at 21:00, after everyone is asleep because I have spent supper time catering to everyone else & cleaning. No “babe can you get”, “MAMAAA”, “where is my…”, “will you make me tea/put the shower on” etc etc etc. Just me in a big bed, eating just made & still warm food and a book I can actually open & read.”
Also mum Roxanne wrote that she wanted “a weekend away on her own”.
For those moms, we recommend a spa day (you can see our list of recommendations below), complete with all the pampering, wining and dining you can imagine.
Other moms, however, say their perfect day would include time spent with their loved ones – especially their kids.
Whether your mom is in need of some alone time, or would just like to have your undivided attention for a day – you need to put her first this Mother’s Day.
Luckily, we’ve got the complete line-up for things to do across the country this weekend. Whether you’re in Joburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth or Cape Town – this weekend is bound to be one for the books!
Here’s our top 20+ ideas for Mother’s Day that’s guaranteed to make mum smile:
