In the 1960s, this was predominantly, a quiet fishing village.  It’s now lined with resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping malls, cabaret bars, and 24-hour clubs.   Nearby, hillside Wat Phra Yai Temple features an 18m-tall golden Buddha.

The area also features several designer golf courses, some with views of Pattaya Bay.

Golf Courses may include: Laem Chabang International Country Club: A Jack Nicklaus-designed masterpiece located between Bangkok and Pattaya, offering 27 holes across three distinct nines – Mountain, Lake, and Valley. Known for its picturesque layout, abundant water features, and challenging yet fair play amidst lush natural surroundings. A true test for all skill levels.  Chee Chan Golf Resort: A visually stunning course set in the dramatic shadow of the Khao Chee Chan Buddha (Buddha Mountain) near Pattaya. Offering panoramic views of the Buddha, Pattaya, and Jomtien, this course is praised for its immaculate conditioning, undulating fairways, and challenging design. A truly memorable scenic experience.  Siam Country Club, Waterside Course: A prestigious championship course built around a series of large lakes, giving it its name.
