Take some mates and Go play golf in Thailand. Combining you favourite sport with an island holiday. Beautiful beaches, shopping, cheap massages and golf! Tee off in Paradise!

Phuket has six fine golf courses, all of which have been designed to take full advantage of the island’s tropical climate and unique topography. Many visitors come solely to play golf around the beautiful landscaped courses, which make use of the local abundance of water and trees to full effect. Many of the courses and nearby hotels ensure that accompanying family members rarely complain about being left to laze by the pool or on the beach.

Standards are high, ensuring that the greens are green and the holes are challenging enough to stretch new and experienced players alike. Some of the courses have even been used for international competitions and world championships.

Loch Palm is described as “balancing challenge and fairness.” The greens are maintained at playable speeds that are never superfast, thus encouraging visiting golfers to return.

Nevertheless, there are plenty of testing carries across water and close encounters with impenetrable jungle. Placed neatly within a cordon of hills, the flight of most shots can be easily tracked through the air against a background of forest or jungle.

Formerly the Banyan Tree Golf Club, Laguna has had a facelift and a name change. All the greens have been rebuilt and reshaped, the once-flat fairways now roll and dip, strategic hazards have been added and more mature trees enhance the woodlands setting.

Rapid improvements have seen the course rated in surveys among the top 10 courses in Thailand. British tournament pro Nick Faldo is said to have been most complimentary about the course, which he played while on vacation on Phuket.

Loch Palm Golf Club Opened in 2007 in Phuket’s Kathu district, Red Mountain Golf Club is located on what used to be a tin mine right next to its sister golf course – Loch Palm Golf Club – and has become one of the favourite courses in Phuket. Red Mountain golf landed its name from the mesa-style appearance of its landscape, made up of red soil, granite rocks, hills, and vegetation.
