Maldives Fishing Package

Enjoy the comforts of Sportfisher, a professional sports fishing boat custom designed with twin 200 hp Yamaha outboard engines powering a catamaran hull for smooth sailing, a large aft deck fishing area, full electronics, outriggers, rod holders, trolling a lounge area with kitchenette, forward berth as well as shower and toilet.

Big-game as well as deep-sea fishing are other options that involve trawling along the outer atoll reefs for giant trophies. The big fish to catch in the Maldives include sailfish, marlin, barracuda, yellowfish, tuna, wahoo, swordfish and many others. Night fishing involves a catch of snappers, emperors, barracuda, squirrel fish as well as jacks.

A 55 minute speedboat transfer brings you to the island of Meerufenfushi and its sole occupant, Meeru Island Resort and Spa; a lovely, well-established, South African favourite. Barefoot is the only way to go on this laid-back island and the chilled atmosphere also makes for the ultimate relaxing holiday that caters for all tastes. But don’t think that there’s nothing going on; there’s an excellent house reef, beautiful lagoon and the most perfect stretches of beach; golf driving range, OceanPro Scuba Centre and evening entertainment. Stay on the beach or over water with Jacuzzi options for both, and eat and drink at one of 4 restaurants – 2 a la carte – and 6 bars.

Meeru Island Resort & Spa is surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and long stretches of white, sandy beach.
It is the only Resort on the island of Meerufenfushi, North Male’ Atoll. Meeru is 1200 meters long by 350 meters wide, about 60 hectares (105 acres).

Meeru offers much to do, or you can relax and do nothing at all. Go on a cruise, a dive or just totally relax on the beach in the sun. It’s all here for you to enjoy, including warm, friendly Maldivian hospitality
